Dana Koheji is a Bahraini-British artist. Born in 1979, Koheji currently lives and works in Kent, UK. Koheji received a BA (Hons) degree from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2002 and has since showed her work in group and solo exhibitions in London, Bahrain and Zurich.

Koheji’s work is concerned with how we experience different spaces and how our memories, dreams and imaginations interact in a conversation with the world around us. Often working on a large scale, Koheji works in oil paints and mixed media to create rich textures and layers in vibrant colours, with the aim to ‘pull the viewer’ into her work. Her work is notably influenced by her experiences living in both the Middle East and Europe and her responses to the different environments.

London series - docklands and developments
Mountain series

I was lucky enough to live in Zurich for ten years, from 2003-2013. In this period my focus shifts from the building sites and housing developments in London to the imposing natural structures of glaciers and mountains.
